A LEADING charity is urging city dwellers to keep fit by signing up for the Edinburgh Marathon.
Macmillan Cancer Support is the official partner of the marathon – which takes place on May 26 and 27 – and hopes to have over 800 runners participating this year, raising £400,000 for cancer patients.
Macmillan’s director in Scotland, Elspeth Atkinson, said: “Life often gets in the way and your planned three times a week trips to the gym just don’t materialise.
“That’s why signing up to run the Edinburgh Marathon Macmillan is such a good idea.”
She added: “We’ll be with you every step of the way.
“We provide comprehensive training, nutrition and kit advice, as well as simple ideas to raise money.”
