SIR Chris Hoy may be one of the UK’s most famous sporting figures and he may have lent his name to one of the key venues for next year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, but even that does not guarantee the Edinburgh-born cyclist tickets for events.
He has revealed his relatives are among the thousands of people who have been left disappointed and missed out on the ballot for tickets.
Now he has joked he might have to come out of retirement just to allow them to attend.
His comments came in a Twitter reply to TV presenter Gabby Logan, wife of ex-Scotland rugby star Kenny, who said she couldn’t get the tickets she wanted. Logan, tweeted: “No gymnastics or cycling @chrishoy so sadly the kids can’t go to your impressive Velodrome Sir Chris.”
Sir Chris, 37, replied: “None for my sis, bro-in-law or nieces either! Only 1 option 4us Gabby, we’ll have 2come out of retirement. I will if you will!”
