Small businesses in Mid-lothian are being offered loans of up to £5000 at competitive interest rates as part of a project to increase employment.
The Midlothian Small Business Loan Fund, overseen by Midlothian Council, also offers services including property advice, procurement information, an online business directory and training support.
Councillor Jim Bryant, economic spokesman, said: “We want to do everything we can to help Midlothian businesses grow and prosper.
“My message to business owners is clear – if you believe a loan would benefit your business, then our door is open.”
Loans of up to £5000 at a competitive interest rate of six per cent are available through the fund, which aims to stimulate good business ideas, assist in business and employment growth.
To be eligible for a loan, businesses must be located in or relocating to Midlothian and be locally managed or controlled.
People starting a new business are also eligible for a loan from the fund.
