Driven snow and gale force winds are set to hit the Lothians later this week, with forecasters warning of possible travel disruption.
The Met Office have issued a Yellow Warning for Wednesday from 9am through to 11.55pm on Thursday.
A cold front is set to push across the UK, with frequent heavy snow showers expected throughout the day.
Forecasters said between 5-10cm of snow ws ‘likely’ even at low levels, with high ground expected to get more than 10cm.
Drivers were warned that as well as affecting road surface conditions, the weather would cause “significantly reduced visibility” and difficult driving conditions.
