A CAMPAIGN which backs Scottish independence is set to be launched in the Capital this week.
Nationalists claim they have convinced “Scots from all walks of life” to sign a “yes” declaration at the Cineworld complex in Fountainbridge on Friday.
It will mark the official beginning of the Yes Scotland campaign.
It is rumoured that Sir Sean Connery could make an appearance at the event.
Meanwhile, Edinburgh South West MP and former chancellor Alistair Darling said he will play a major part in the No to Independence campaign.
And another of the city’s sons could join Mr Darling in campaigning against separation.
Tony Blair has been tipped to answer a “call to arms” and play a part in the effort for a “no” vote.
SNP MSP Kenny Gibson said the former prime minister’s proposed involvement would be a “disaster” for the unionist cause.
