A SERIES of winter astronomy talks are to take place in the Capital.

Over the next six months the Royal Observatory at Blackford will host the events, which will be held every Monday.

The series kicked-off with a lecture by Ian Robson, the observatory’s director.

His talk, titled Our Universe: Through the Eyes of Astronomers, proved popular with those in attendance.

They will now run until April 2, each lasting an hour, with an admission fee of £3. They begin each evening at 7.30pm.

A variety of experts have been lined up to take part in the eagerly anticipated events, some of which, organisers said, would be visually dramatic.
