STEVE Coogan is to present this year’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
The Alan Partridge co-creator won best show prize at the Fringe Festival 21 years ago and will return to the Capital to hand out prizes to the winners in the 33rd year of the awards.
Judges for the Foster’s awards will have seen a record 600 shows at the Fringe when they meet to pick the winner, organisers said.
Coogan will be joined by last year’s main winner Doctor Brown to hand out the £10,000 prize for best comedy show and the £5000 best newcomer award.
The shortlist will be announced later this week and the awards ceremony is at the Pleasance on Saturday.
Other winners of the best show award include Frank Skinner and Harry Hill.
