Singing sensation Susan Boyle is set to double the size of her beloved council house by knocking through to the property next door.

The songstress, 52, is planning to transform the modest property in Blackburn, West Lothian, in to a six-bedroom home.

It comes after her neighbours Paul Keaveney and Teresa Miller had to move out after the property’s landlord announced his intention to sell.

The Britain’s Got Talent contestant had a row with the pair in 2012 after they submitted an official complaint to the council saying the noise of Susan singing her hit songs prevented them from hearing their own TV.

Now Paul, 45, and Teresa, 40, have moved out – and Susan is said to be trying to buy has the house next to her own council semi.

Susan failed to settle in a £300,000 luxury villa at the other end of the village that she bought in 2010 – and moved back to the home she bought from West Lothian Council for £65,000.

Her niece now lives in the five-bedroom new-build.

Susan – who has sold 14 million records and is worth around £11 million – is believed to have received a £15,000 discount when she bought the house in
2009 because her family
had lived there more than 30 years.

Now, Susan is renting the property next door, worth an estimated £65,000, from landlords Romano and Claudia Pacitti while she agrees a price with them.

A source said: “Susan tried living in the posh house, as she calls it, but she hated it.

“It’s got all mod-cons and is a terrific property but the council house is where all her roots are. She has lived there all her life.

“It is her home and that will never change.

“She could buy a place anywhere in the world but this is where she stays.

“Everyone on the street keeps an eye out for her and she likes that.

“The only downside was the bother with Paul and Teresa – and now they are gone.

“So to be able to stay put but extend is brilliant for her.

“She can’t wait to start drilling through the walls. “She is renting the house next door while she agrees a sale–- as long as the landlords don’t rack the price up.

“She is canny with her money and won’t be made a mug out of.”

Paul and Teresa were given notice to quit in September and are now living elsewhere in Blackburn.

Teresa said: “We were told we had two months to get out. The landlord said he wanted to sell the property.”

News of Susan’s extended home comes after she revealed last month that she has Asperger’s Syndrome.

Susan learned she has the form of autism having been wrongly diagnosed with brain damage at birth.

The I Dreamed a Dream star – who has gone on to have hits around the world – told of her relief at having a proper explanation for “emotional outbursts” and “acute anxiety” that have afflicted her throughout her life.
