Singer Susan Boyle will carry the Queen’s baton on one of the stages of its journey around the Commonwealth Games’ host city today, the day before its opening ceremony.
The baton will set off from the Riverside Museum and will visit landmarks around the west end of Glasgow including Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.
Britain’s Got Talent star Boyle, right, from Blackburn, West Lothian, will carry the baton at Yorkhill Royal Hospital for Sick Children.
It will finish the day at a celebration event in Victoria Park featuring sports, arts and dance activities and special entertainment.
The baton returned yesterday to Glasgow, where it was designed, marking the final countdown to the opening ceremony of the 2014 Games.
The Queen’s baton relay, which got under way in October, is now on its 285th day.
The symbol of the forthcoming Games has already been held aloft by tens of thousands of bearers across 70 nations and territories of the Commonwealth.
