THE best contemporary portrait photography from around the world is set to be showcased in a new exhibition in the Capital.
Organisers at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery have confirmed that the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize display will bring together 56 entries from last year’s competition, which attracted nearly 5000 submissions.
Among the winners was Tereza Cervenova, who was given the £5000 John Kobal new work award for a portrait of her friend, Yngvild.
The exhibition will open on June 18. Anne Lyden, international photography curator at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, said: “The diversity of images and issues represented in this year’s competition make for a strong and provocative display.”
