A teenage lottery winner has started work in a Capital chip shop - because she is “bored of spending money”.
Jane Park, who won £1 million at the age of 17 after buying her first ever lottery ticket, had her first shift at the Marmaris Fry in Duddingston on Thursday.
The 19-year-old, who is doing five nights a week, said she asked the owner for a job as she preferred to have a “working routine”.
She added: “I’ve had a few people on Twitter saying, ‘why are you working when you’re a millionaire?, but it’s not been too bad.
“This shop is in my community so I know everyone who comes in. I’ve always got folk to speak to and say hello.”
The Niddrie teenager said she was enjoying the change of scene - although she said the job was giving her “sore feet and legs”.
