Council property in Midlothian has been given the thumbs up, with 85 per cent of tenants reporting they were satisfied with their homes.
The council’s 2012 Tenant Satisfaction Survey, which was carried out earlier this year, returned a dissatisfaction rate of seven per cent.
Councillor Owen Thompson, cabinet member for housing, said: “I’m pleased with the overall results of this survey, and in particular with the number of our tenants who are satisfied with the quality of their homes. This reflects our significant and ongoing investment in providing quality, affordable homes for Midlothian families. The survey also highlighted a number of areas for improvement and we’ll be focusing on those going forward.”
Of the respondents 66 per cent said their neighbourhood had either improved or stayed the same over the previous three years, while 23 per cent felt it had declined.
