AN independent brewery from the Capital has scooped a top global prize for the second year in a row.
Stewart Brewing received the prize of best blonde/golden pale ale at the World Beer Awards, for its Hollyrood Beer.
It is part of a range of several bottled beers with local names produced by the firm, which has been so successful in recent years that it is next year planning to triple brewing capacity at its site at Bilston Glen industrial estate.
Founder and managing director Steve Stewart said: “This is a fabulous achievement. The fact that we have won this great award for the second year running is all thanks to the hard work and dedication of all the staff here.”
It was selected after a taste-off against more than 500 entries from around the world.
