A NUCLEAR power plant is back running at full capacity after a reactor was taken offline for a week amid investigations into an electrical fault.

Torness Power Station, near Dunbar, re-synchronised Unit 1 at noon today.

It had been shut down on July 1 due to an issue with the electrical system within the conventional plant.

Station bosses previously said that cooling to the reactor had been maintained at all times and there had been “no safety, health or environmental impacts”.
