Haddington has emerged as a property hotspot as figures revealed it has a higher proportion of homes on the market worth £1 million or more than anywhere else in Scotland.
The survey ranked the East Lothian town 16th in the UK after discovering that 21 per cent of the homes being sold there were worth £1 million or more.
The average property price in Haddington in July was £386,091, compared with £157,258 Scotland-wide.
The top 15 towns in the ranking by property website PrimeLocation.com were all within commuting distance of London. The listing was topped by Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire, where TV’s Midsomer Murders is filmed.
