DUNBAR’S culinary prowess was recognised at the annual East Lothian Food and Drink Awards dinner this week as businesses in the town scooped four awards.
Among the big winners on the night were: The Volunteer Arms, runner-up in the Best Pub Meal; The Creel Restaurant, winner in the Best Restaurant Meal; The Food Hamper, winner in the Best Café category; Belhaven Smokehouse, winner in the publicly nominated award, Best Local Produce Retailer.
Rural Affairs Secretary Richard Lochhead MSP, who presented the winners with their respective gongs, said: “Scotland is a land of food and drink and East Lothian has some of the finest produce to offer.
“I would like to congratulate all the nominees and winners of the sixth food and drink awards which are a recognition of their dedication and hard work.”
Councillor Paul McLennan, council leader who represents Dunbar, said: “Dunbar has so much to offer. I’m proud of Dunbar and would encourage all to visit Dunbar, not only for our excellent cuisine, but also for our tourist attractions and High Street.”
