A FORMER trainee prison officer has been jailed for more than a year after being caught dealing heroin.
Stephen Pender was caught after police forced their way into his home.
In his bedroom they found a bag of brown powder hidden in Pender’s boxer shorts, Livingston Sheriff Court was told.
Pender, 27, of Livingston, West Lothian, appeared for sentence yesterday after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing.
He admitted being concerned in the supply of the class A drug at his home in the town’s Nigel Rise on March 7 last year.
Sheriff Edington said: “What we have here is a serious offence of supplying class ‘A’ drugs. The courts say such offences will be punished severely, so you will go to prison for 13 months and two weeks.”
