A SUMMIT of East Lothian community councils is being held in Haddington next month to discuss strains on the transport network.
Among the topics on the agenda is the local authority’s response to the First Scotland East decision to withdraw several bus routes across Midlothian and East Lothian.
Around 13 rural routes were culled last month in a major shake-up by the bus firm, which plans to close its depot in Dalkeith and contract operations at its Musselburgh base.
Transport officers Paul Ince and Ray Montgomery will address the meeting at the council chambers in Haddington Town House on May 16.
Members of the audience who wish to place an item on the agenda should contact the Association of East Lothian Community Councils before May 14.
