CYCLING campaigners are stepping up their efforts to get a change in the law on who is to blame for road accidents.

The Road Share group believes drivers should have to prove they were not at fault in accidents with cyclists.

A steering committee established by the group, including representatives from Scottish Cycling, Cycle Law Scotland and Pedal on Parliament, held its first meeting in Edinburgh yesterday.

It plans to lobby MSPs ahead of a possible member’s bill being brought before the Scottish Parliament.
