A TRUCK driver has been charged after his vehicle became trapped under a bridge at Cameron Toll.
The Scania lorry tipped over after hitting the railway bridge yesterday.
The 51-year-old driver was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment and was later charged by police with careless driving.
Police, ambulance and fire crews were all called to the scene at 10.30am.
The road was closed for five hours while the truck was removed and engineers checked the safety of the bridge.
A Network Rail spokeswoman said: “We were informed that there was a bridge strike, but there was no disruption to the line.”
