TWO drivers have been taken to hospital after a head on collision on the A71 close to the BP petrol station at Polbeth this morning.

One of the men suffered from “fractures and internal injuries” which are not understood to be life-threatening.

He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary while the other driver was taken to St John’s hospital with “minor injuries”.

The men were given first aid by firefighters before the ambulance service arrived.

It was re-opened at 8.30am this morning, police have since confirmed.
