Edinburgh Storm: Lorry driver dies in A801 crash

A lorry driver has died after his HGV was blown on top of cars West Lothian.

Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses following the incident at around 8.10am today on the A801, one mile north of the Boghead Roundabout.

An HGV lorry overturned and collided with a number of other vehicles.

Emergency services responded and the male driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four other people involved in the collision sustained minor injuries.

The A801 remains closed southbound at the Heatherfield Roundabout. However, traffic continues to flow freely northbound from this location.

During the ongoing severe weather, motorists, particularly those driving high-sided vehicles, are advised not to travel and delay any journeys until conditions improve.
