Midlothian crimebeat October 12-18

Here is your weekly round-up of crime in Midlothian, for October 12-18, as reported by Police Scotland.

DALKEITH:

On Tuesday, October 13, officers attended a Road Traffic Collision at Gilmerton Road, Dalkeith. A 40 year old male was subsequently charged in connection with the incident and a report submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

On Friday, October 16, Officers effected a search warrant at a property in the Whitehill Drive area of Dalkeith where they found a quantity of cannabis and heroin within. A 24 year old male and 22 year old female were charged in connection with the incident.

On Saturday, October 17, Officers attended St Andrews Street, Dalkeith in relation to a vandalism. Officers traced and charged a 39 year old female in connection with the incident, who was also found to be in breach of bail.

NEWTONGRANGE / MAYFIELD:

On Monday, October 12, officers were called to attend an ongoing fire at a Derelict building on Newbattle Road, Newtongrange. An 11 year old boy has been reported to the Youth Justice Officer in relation to the incident.

On Thursday, October 15, officers were requested to attend shop premises in Main Street, Newtongrange in response to a report of staff being assaulted. A 20 year old male was charged in connection with the incident and a report submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

On Saturday, October 17, Officers attended Saint Lukes Way, Mayfield, in relation to a vehicle being involved in collision. A 16 year old male was traced and subsequently charged with a number of Road Traffic Offences and reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

GOREBRIDGE:

On Thursday, October 15, officers were requested to attend a disturbance at Birkenside, Gorebridge. A 45 year old male was arrested and charged in connection with threatening and abusive behaviour and a report submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

On Friday, October 16, officers attended Hillside Crescent North, Gorebridge in relation to a report of a group who were under the influence, causing a disturbance and damage. An 18 year old male was charged in connection with the incident and reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

BONNYRIGG:

On Tuesday, October 13, officers attended a report of an attempt break-in to premises in Polton Street, Bonnyrigg. A 44 year old male who was also found to be in breach of bail was charged and a report submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

LOANHEAD:

On Monday, October 12, officers where carrying out patrols in Polton Road, Loanhead, when they noted a smell of cannabis emanating from a vehicle. Cannabis was found and a 24 year old male was charged in connection with the incident.

On Tuesday, October 13, officers attended in the Straiton area following a report of a suspected drink driver. Officers traced the vehicle and a 62 year old male driver was charged in connection with the incident. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

PENICUIK:

On Friday, October 16, officers attended John Street, Penicuik in relation to a report of a young male suspected to be under the influence who was causing a disturbance and had damaged property. A 15 year old male who assaulted officers and resisted arrest when traced was charged in connection with the incident and a report has been submitted to the Youth Justice Officer.

ROSLIN / ROSEWELL:

On Tuesday, October 13, officers attended a property in Wallace Crescent, Roslin in relation to noise complaint. Officers found the occupant to be in breach of an anti-social behaviour order. The 48 year old female was charged and reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
