Drivers have been warned to expect long delays around the Forth Road Bridge after it was closed to northbound traffic when four cars were involved in an accident.
Road Policing Units were called out attend following the incident, which occurred just after 2pm on Friday.
Very minor injuries have been reported, although no drivers or passengers have been taken to hospital.
Emergency personnel were forced to close southbound traffic for around ten minutes after the collision in order to reach the vehicles – but those lanes have sense been reopened.
Northbound lanes remained closed for over an hour however, and a spokesman for the Forth Road Bridge said: “Unfortunately, this is probably going to have a knock-on effect on evening traffic.”
