Police have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses after a man involved in a road collision in Livingston passed away.

A silver Vauxhall Corsa collided with a heavy goods vehicle on Carnegie Road in Livingston at around 11.30am on Saturday 2nd August.

Stuart Sinclair, the 20-year-old driver of the Corsa, suffered multiple injuries in the incident and, in the early hours of Monday 11th August, he succumbed to his injuries at the Edinburgh Western General Hospital.

Stuart, who lived in Livingston, was travelling eastwards on Carnegie Road at the time of the two-car collision. The 53-year-old driver of the HGV, who was uninjured, was travelling westwards.

Enquiries are ongoing, and Police Constable Billy Mark from the Road Policing Unit said: “Unfortunately, this has now become a fatal road collision and we are obviously eager to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident or who was driving on Carnegie Road on the morning of Saturday 2nd August is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
