Edinburgh’s trams have resumed a full service after the traffic chaos unleashed on the West End when a bus a tram crashed.
No-one was injured in the accident, which happened in West Maitland Street around 7.45am.
The tram and the bus were both travelling east towards Princes Street.
Police said the tram was not derailed but would need to be “uplifted”.
Traffic had to mount the pavement to get past the accident and full diversions were put in place in both directions.
Witness Jim Chappell, 35, said: “This is historic - I think this is the first crash between a tram and a bus.
“It’s obvious what happened. It looks a bit dramatic, but I don’t think anyone was hurt.
“The collision just caused lots of traffic jams across the West End.”
