ALL seven senior management figures have now left the tram project after it was taken in-house.
TIE project director Steven Bell took redundancy in July 2011. Mr Bell joined in 2006 as engineering and procurement director, and became project director in January 2008.
A chartered civil engineer with experience in the rail and infrastructure sectors, Mr Bell kept a low public profile, but is credited along with former chief executive Richard Jeffrey with pursuing an aggressive stance with contractors. Mr Jeffrey, below, joined TIE in 2009 having been managing director of Edinburgh Airport and then president of the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce.
He left in June last year after a bitter dispute with Bilfinger Berger brought the project close to collapse. Following this, the tram company refused to reveal the size of his pay-off, despite repeated freedom of information requests.
Deputy project director Susan Clark, below, joined TIE in January 2004 and was made project director for the Edinburgh Airport Rail Link in July 2005. In August 2006, she was appointed a director on the tram delivery team. She has worked for Scottish Water and spent her early career with British Rail, Railtrack and Network Rail.
Gregor Roberts is an economics graduate and has worked for a number of firms. He is now Scottish finance director at Morrison FS Ltd.
