A WOMAN was cut free from her car after an accident near Haddington this morning.

The car struck a telephone pole, plunged down an embankment and collided with two trees.

A spokeswoman from the fire service said they cut her out of the passenger side door and lifted her on to a spinal board before taking her up the embankment on a ladder.

The incident happened shortly after 7am this morning on the A6137 just outside Garleton Farm.
