A WOMAN has been treated by medics after her car overturned on a busy city street.

Police, medics and fire crews rushed to the scene of the incident at Slateford Road in west Edinburgh after receiving an emergency call at around 2.10pm.

Firefighters had to cut two occupants - a husband and wife - from their overturned Toyota Rac Four, with the woman treated by medics in an ambulance at the scene.

Police also closed the road at Ashley Terrace and Shandon because the vehicle was obstructing two lanes.

It is understood a bus stop was damaged during the incident and that it has been cordoned off for urgent repair and safety work.
