TWO men have been arrested and charged after a high-speed chase through the city which ended in eight parked cars being damaged.
The pair, aged 19 and 20, were apprehended in connection with the alleged incident at around 4am on Saturday.
Police spotted a Fiat Panda breaking the speed limit on Murrayburn Road in Wester Hailes and pursued it for around two miles to Polwarth Terrace. The pair were taken to hospital before being arrested and charged.
A police spokesman said: “Officers from the Road Policing Unit were involved in a vehicle pursuit in Edinburgh in the early hours of Saturday morning, involving a vehicle that was pursued from Murrayburn Road to Polwarth Terrace, where it collided with a number of parked vehicles. The occupants made off on foot, but were apprehended nearby.”
The pair are expected in court at a later date.
