A STALKER who terrorised his ex-girlfriend by following her everywhere she went has escaped with a warning.
Lavakumar Ramathasan was said to be “infatuated” with female student Simmy Panesar.
Every day he waited for her at a train station in Linlithgow. He sat beside her and constantly pestered her as she travelled to Stirling University.
He also bombarded her with telephone calls on a daily basis.
Ms Panesar eventually called police and Ramathasan, 29, who now lives in London, was arrested. He appeared in court yesterday after earlier pleading guilty to engaging in a course of conduct which caused her fear and alarm.
Prosecutor Michael Deacon said Ramathasan had not come to the attention of police since sentence was deferred for good behaviour four months ago.
Sheriff Douglas Kinloch told the accused: “I’m going to do what I said I would do and that’s admonish you.”
