A BLINDFOLDED Alan Rough demonstrated the same cat-like reflexes that made him a football legend in a penalty shootout for the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young.

Relying on instinct and luck, the ex-goalkeeper, who was part of the Scotland squad at three World Cups, saved five out of ten shots in the spot-kick challenge.

The 53-cap star’s opponent at Meadowbank Sports Centre was James Logan, 52, who has been blind for 30 years.

Spectator Hugh Naismith, 47, of West Lothian, said: “Roughie ended up taking a couple of shots with a beach ball.”
