A FATHER-OF-TWO from West Lothian has died after being hit by a car while on holiday in the Canaries.
Darren Laurie, 29, was knocked down by a 4x4 on the holiday island of Fuerteventura.
It is understood he was walking back to his hotel after treatment for a head knock when the accident happened.
He needed medical aid after falling while watching Hearts play Hibs on TV at a pub in Puerto Lajas.
His father, John, 57, from Uphall, said the two young children were still unaware of Sunday’s accident.
He said: “He doted on the children, but they don’t know their daddy’s dead.”
Mum Alison, 56, said: “It still hasn’t sunk in. We miss him.”
