A rubber tyre factory in Renfrewshire, an arts centre in Orkney and a leisure pavilion in Rothesay all appear on the 10-strong shortlist for the contest organised by Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) and Festival of Architecture 2016.

The list has been narrowed down from 100 contenders with the full set of architectural gems charted in a new book Scotstyle: 100 Years of Scottish Architecture (1916-2015).

Voting is open until Friday (November 11) with the most popular building to be announced in Dundee on November 17.
