DOCTORS recovered £700 of heroin which a woman had hidden internally, a court has heard.
After officers failed to find drugs during a raid of her Livingston home, Kayleigh Hughes, 21, was arrested after being spotted “fumbling around in her groin area”.
She was then taken to St John’s Hospital where a doctor managed to recover the package.
Hughes – who shared the flat with an ex-prison officer – appeared for sentence at Livingston Sheriff Court yesterday after earlier pleading guilty to intentionally obstructing police on March 13.
Neil Stewart, defending, said his client had hidden the class A drugs “in a state of panic. He said: “Miss Hughes is embarrassed and ashamed to be appearing before the court.”
Sheriff Craig Turnbull sentenced Hughes to 150 hours of unpaid work and put her under social work supervision on a six-month community payback order.
