A WOMAN is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a car as she crossed a road.
The 49-year-old was struck by a Volkswagen car on Almondvale Road, Livingston, as she crossed the road shortly after getting off a bus.
The crash happened at around 5.30pm on Friday.
The woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where she is in a serious but stable condition.
Sergeant Neil Inglis said: “A number of witnesses have already come forward but we are continuing our appeal and
anyone who was on Almondvale Road around 5.30pm on Friday is urged to contact police.”
The road was closed for six hours while road traffic police carried out investigations at the scene.
