A WORKMAN has been rescued after suffering a heart attack on a roof.

The man was working at Lothian Electrical Machines in Haddington, when he fell ill at about 11.30am this morning.

Emergency services were called to the Hospital Road business, where the man was in cardiac arrest on the roof.

Firefighters lowered him 30ft to the ground in a basket stretcher.

An ambulance service spokeswoman said: “CPR was ongoing and the man was transported to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”

His condition is not known.
