A WOMAN was robbed of jewellery and cash she’d saved for Christmas presents while she was walking with her young daughter.
The 23-year-old was walking along Carlowrie Place in Gorebridge with her mother and daughter at around 1pm on Wednesday when a man grabbed her handbag from behind her, injuring her shoulder.
The robber ran back up the hill from Carlowrie Place and away onto McLean Place and out of sight.
The suspect is described as white, short dark hair, between 18 and 20 years old, around 5 ft 4 in and of slim build.
He was wearing a grey tracksuit with dark blue stripes down the sides.
DC James Welsh said: “The bag contained a significant quantity of cash to be used for Christmas shopping and jewellery of sentimental value.
“This all adds up to a particularly traumatic incident for this young family and officers are carrying out inquiries.”
