Three people have been charged following an intelligence-led drugs raid in Blackburn.

There was a significant recovery of Class B drugs following a serch, with three being charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

Officers from proactive CID, Community Policing and the local Community Action Team conducted intelligence-led drugs warrants within a number of properties on Thursday September 28.

Two large Cannabis cultivations were seized with the total value of drugs recovered estimated to be approximately £74,500.

One man aged 57-years-old and two females aged 58 and 35-years-old are scheduled to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on 6th October.

Community Inspector Gregor Forbes of Whitburn Police Station said: “This drugs recovery has come about as a direct result of the local communities input, with officers acting on anonymous information received via Crimestoppers.

“We are working hard to tackle drug crime and ensure that harmful substances such as Cannabis are kept off our streets.

“I would like to thank the local community for the support they provide to the police and would like to remind the public that all information provided to Crimestoppers is anonymous.”
