Sixteen landlords in Edinburgh have been reported to the procurator fiscal in the past 18 months for alleged criminality in renting their flats

According to a Sunday newspaper, a further 12 landlords have had their licences revoked or applications refused in the past year.

A spokesman for City of Edinburgh Council said: “We take unlawful and unfair behaviour by landlords very seriously and carry out enforcement based on complaints and intelligence and investigate matters where necessary.”
