The incident happened around 1 a.m. on Monday 31st October at the McNicoll Vehicle Hire premises in Braehead Road.

Four cars parked at the front of the building sustained significant damage when they were deliberately set alight.

Officers are now urging anyone who can assist with their enquiries to come forward.

Detective Constable Krista Tench said: “Thankfully no one was injured as a result of these fires and the fire service was able to quickly bring them under control.

“However, the consequences of this act could have been far worse and we are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry to trace those responsible.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious around Braehead Road during the early hours of Monday morning, or similarly, anyone with information that can help us us identify the culprits.”

Those with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 or the charity Crimestoppers in confidence and complete anonymity on 0800 555 111.
