MOTORISTS were held up during rush hour this morning following a two car collision on Glasgow Road.
Police were called to the scene shortly before 9am, after a grey BMW collided with a taxi at the street’s junction with North Gyle Road.
It is understood the 45 year-old taxi driver was trapped inside his vehicle until the Scottish Fire Service arrived.
Police have confirmed no-one was seriously injured and a 24 year-old has been charged under the Road Traffic Act.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “A 24-year-old woman has been charged under the Road Traffic Act following a collision on Glasgow Road in Edinburgh on Friday, November 11.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and she is expected to appear in court at a later date.”
