A MUSICIAN from Edinburgh has died after falling from a bridge in Malta.

Cheyne Halliday, who was frontman of Metro Mafia, suffered head injuries in the city of Birgu at the end of last month.

A decision was made to switch off the 23-year-old’s life-support on Friday.

Mr Halliday was born in Ireland, but had lived in Edinburgh for a year, helping to organise the Capital’s gay pride event in 2016.

Metro Mafia guitarist Harry Noble said: “We had full faith he would be okay, so hearing he had died was really hard.

“I always thought he could bounce back from anything. It’s hard to deal with.”
