FORMER Hibs winger Duncan Watmore helped save the lives of three pensioners after a boat crash, it has been revealed.
Watmore, 23, was in Barbados with his girlfriend Sophie in February when a speedboat they were on was struck by a catamaran.
The Sunderland star, who played nine times while on loan at Hibs in 2014, managed to pull three holidaymakers to safety from the water.
He then used his t-shirt to stem the bleeding from a severe cut suffered by one of the pensioners.
One of the rescued holidaymakers said: “It was scary, life or death. I’m lucky not to be coming back in a box.
“Duncan helped everybody to get on to the boat — he couldn’t have been nicer.”
Watmore, who is currently battling back from a lengthy injury lay-off, and Sophie were unhurt.
