Police are continuing investigations in Leith after the body of a woman was recovered from a flat.
Officers were called to the Madeira Street property on Wednesday evening with the death being treated as “unexplained”.
Forensic teams spent most of yesterday at the property and officers remain at the scene today.
One resident said: “It’s scary, it’s usually quite a quiet area especially since the Fort was torn down.
“I think it’s students who live in the properties. It’s definitely all young people, you can hear the music usually early in the morning and late at night.
“There’s quite a high turnover of people on the street because there’s a lot of student lets, so people are always coming and going.”
Another resident said people were seen entering the property at the weekend, but that there had been little activity since.
One said: “I remember seeing people going into the building on Saturday.
“There’s always at least one person smoking and drinking coffee while hanging out the window on the top floor.”
