THE council survey on the state of the Capital is mind bogglingly unbelievable (News, March 22).

200 Voices: find out more about the people who have shaped Scotland

You don’t need a survey to see how bad things are - just take a walk around the city. The dog fouling is disgusting, the street cleaning is almost non-existent, the refuse collection is terrible, the street lighting is so poor that some people are afraid to go out after dark, our parks and recreation places are a disgrace.

I could go on but don’t see the point. They have not listened to the public for years, so I can’t see them doing so now. If this survey is meant as a deflection for the forthcoming local elections, I think they will find it has not worked.

Stop wasting our money on stupid ideas like trams and lifts for cyclists up the Mound and spend it on everyday services that everyone needs and uses.
