The 15th century ‘Passion Stones’ were taken from the grounds of the hospital sometime between February 5 and March 8 and local officers have been carrying out inquiries to establish their whereabouts and identify the culprits.

Anyone who has information relating to the theft of these items is asked to come forward.

Police have stated that the carved stones are very distinctive and quite heavy so stealing them would have required some effort.
