Dione Melville was just 15 when she died after taking the pill at a sleepover with friends in Livingston.

Despite being rushed to hospital from Langton Avenue , the teen died en route.

The teen who gave the pill to Dione admitted to selling the pill and was sentenced to eight months’ following an appearance at Livingston Sheriff Court last week.

According to reports in the Daily Record, the teen, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was aware that there was an issue with the pill after another teen he had sold pills in the previous week had also fallen ill.

The mother of Dione told the paper that she wished the sentence was longer.

The mum, from West Calder said: “I would have liked for it to have been longer.”

“We miss Dione so much.

“She was such a happy-go-lucky girl, full of fun.

“They say it’s supposed to get easier as time goes on, but it really doesn’t.”
