POLICE are investigating after a person was struck and killed by a train in Joppa on Sunday.

Trains between Edinburgh, North Berwick and Tweedbank have been disrupted.

The incident took place at the rail bridge near Joppa Quarry Park, and the road is closed to all traffic at Coillesdene Crescent.

The British Transport Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident but were unable to give any further information.
