A MAN is recovering in hospital after a gas explosion at a home in Broxburn.

Four properties were evacuated in Greendykes Road after a “massive bang” was heard on Friday night.

A 20-year-old man was taken to St John’s Hospital, where his injuries were described as not life-threatening.

A police spokesman said: “Police in West Lothian were called to Greendykes Road, Broxburn, at around 10.30pm on Friday, April 1 following a report of a gas explosion.

“A 20-year-old man was taken to St John’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and enquiries are ongoing.”
